I am a professional Audio Biographer. This means I record on audio the personal life stories of those who wish their joys and sorrows to be remembered by close family and friends long after they've passed away.

So this is a priceless legacy, a unique gift either to yourself or those whom you cherish.

The recordings will become a much treasured possession, a valuable family heirloom for generations to come.

Imagine if your ancestors had been able to do this !

Today you'd be able to eavesdrop on the original voices of your own forbearers, you'd be able to hear the genuine experiences of what life was really like for your family in the Victorian or Edwardian eras.

Who am I?

I am Barbara Altounyan.

I am a BBC trained TV and radio interviewer with more than 30 years experience.  For radio I have conducted interviews for Radio Four and for BBC World Service.

For television I have worked for BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Discovery,TLC, & National Geographic in Britain and overseas.

So when the time comes I will be able to help you marshall all your experiences expertly and effectively. I will be able to guide you to produce the very best possible audio biography of your personal and professional life.

I became an Audio Biographer when I was in my mid twenties. I suddenly realised that my own father was quite unwell. As a BBC broadcast journalist I decided to take time off work to record my father's life story. I'm so glad I did, it was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Tragically my father died only a few weeks after our recordings ended.

Later I recorded the life story of other well known people. Now that I'm older I 've decided to return to this incredibly privileged profession, an inspiring, exciting and unique adventure which is surely Audio Biography.

The Audio Biographer Ltd is a Social Enterprise company which means we are a registered business as well as a charity. We commit time to pro bono work for the terminally ill as well those vulnerable individuals who are in genuine need.
